Step 1: Taking Measurements: Calculate the amount of fabric you will need for your project. For example, it may take 3 yards of fabric to replace the fabric on 4 chairs.
Step 2: Disassembly of old Chair: Carefully disassemble the chair, removing the old fabric from the frame.
Step 3: Clean the Aluminum Chairs: Clean the aluminum frame of the chair to remove any dirt or debris.
Clean with acetone and then wipe with silicone spray.
Step 4: Cutting New Fabric to Size: Cut the new fabric to size, using the old fabric as a template.
Step 5: Sewing Hems: Sew hems on all sides of the fabric to prevent fraying.
Step 6: Sewing Sleeves: Sew sleeves on the top and bottom (Back), and the sides (Seat bottom) of the fabric to create channels for the rails.
Step 7: Insert the Sling Fabric in Rails: Insert the new fabric into the rails of the chair frame.
Step 8: Reinserting Spreader Bars: Reinsert the spreader bars into the chair frame.
Step 9: Reassembly of Chair: Reassemble the chair, making sure all parts are securely fastened.

In this video, we will demonstrate how to replace the old fabric on a two-piece sling chair that includes spline cording running in channels. The spline cording is secured with rivets that can be difficult to remove, but we will show you an easy way to do it. The seat back is slightly curved along the bottom. We will also show you how to measure the old fabric and make some simple calculations to measure for the new sling fabric.
